Pat Newton, a lesbian who is trying to open a gay bar in Shannon, Mississippi, said there is a discriminatory "conspiracy" in town to prevent her from getting the appropriate permits. It's the same bar which was featured in the 2006 documentary "Small Town Gay Bar," which Newton is trying to reopen. [Advocate]
